His combined education in Oriental and Naturopathic medicine total over 12 years. His OM education also consisted of a Masters degree from East West College of Natural Medicine and a one-year postgraduate internship with Dr. David Cohen, DO, FAAMA. Prior to his Oriental medical education, Mel earned two doctoral degrees (ND-distance learning and NMD-residential). After eleven years of training in both Chinese and Western medicine, he obtained his Ph.D. in TCM from Tianjin University of TCM in 1999. He also has a Diploma of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners of Georgia.
