Meirong Wang LAc graduated from China's Chengdu University of TCM in 1991 with a Bachelor in Medicine degree. She has more than 20 years of clinical practice in Acupuncture and Moxibustion as well as Chinese herbal medicine. She is now concurrently teaching acupuncture and supervising clinical work at South Baylo (Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) University VA Campus as well as practicing in NOVA Acupuncture & Moxibustion Clinic.

I am able to help a variety of conditions in the skeletal, muscular, intigumentary, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, respiratory, digestive, emotional & psychological, cardiovascular, lymphatic and immune disorders. I am also a Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian and has spent the last 10 years specializing in Renal Nutrition at MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute in Washington, D.C. As an advanced practitioner in the nutrition care of kidney transplant candidates and recipients, my focus has been educating and preparing patients meet the nutritional requirements for transplant. My experience is from a variety of settings, including dialysis centers, community nutrition, clinical and organ transplant.

I teach clients to identify their feelings, use non-food coping skills, awareness of true hunger cues, and become more connected to their bodies by separating food from feelings. Together in a safe, supportive environment, we will explore barriers to change such as body image, exercise resistance, and emotional eating.
