At Olney Chiropratic Center we treat the person. We prefer to look at the body as a system and symptoms as the way the body talks to us. When the pateint is experincing symptoms of back, neck pain, an extremity problem and/or possible headaches we search for the cause of the dysfunction to resolve the problem and work with the patient to restore health. We use Applied Kinesiology as one of our tools to evaluate structural and physiological balance. I am a board-certified Clinical & Integrative Nutritionist specializing in the functional medicine approach to nutrition. I help individuals find and address the root cause of imbalances rather than simply treating symptoms. In my practice, I provide individuals with personalized, whole-person care. I believe in giving each patient my individual, full attention. Treatment sessions are generally 30 to 40 minutes, with a focus on restoring muscle and joint function and eliminating pain. Treatments usually include gentle deep muscle work, manual manipulative therapy, Pilates based rehabilitative exercise, and other physical therapies. I have great success in treating chronic myofascial pain (fibromyalgia), migraine headaches, numbness and tingling in the hands and feet (peripheral neuropathy), foot pain, and especially the chronic neck, shoulder and arm pain that comes from working at a computer. Of course, I treat sports and auto injuries as well.

Victoria Goldsten has been caring for the sick since 1973. Her first health care experience was in nursing at several local hospitals and health care facilities. She later studied and became certified in: Homeopathy, Reiki, Lymphatic Drainage, Chakra Balancing, Acupressure, and Hypnotherapy. She has a B.S. degree in Nursing and a Doctorate degree in Homeopathy. She is currently practicing as an Integrative Homeopath and Massage Therapist in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She is Licensed in Nursing and Massage by the State of Maryland and Washington, D.C. She is currently working as the Director and a practitioner at the Washington Institute.

I graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China with a medical degree in 1987, and received a Master Degree in Human Nutrition in University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT in 1993, I have been practicing and teaching Chinese medicine in China and USA over the last 25 years. I am currently a clinical supervisor in the Chinese herbology program at Maryland University of Integrative Health. With the knowledge and experience in Eastern and Western Medicine, I am providing high quality service to my clients.

I received my O.M.D. from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1995, completed my residency in the First Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine in 1997 and my fellowship in Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine in Guang'anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in 2000. I graduated from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1982 (Bachelor of Medicine) and practice acupuncture in Rockville and Bethesda, Maryland. I also do acupuncture at National Institutes of Health as a member of pain and palliative care team. My main interests have been on pain management, sport injury, inflammation (such as arthritis, tendonitis, gastrointestinal problems) and neurological diseases (essential tremor, Parkinson's disease, dementia and ADHD). I am also an immunologist researching on inflammatory and infectious diseases. I was NIH research fellow and has a Ph.D. in biochemistry (Wayne State University 1992).
