He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Then he graduated from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA with Magna Cum Laude and spent the next eight years in Korea, working at Korean Research Institute of Geriatrics as the senior researcher and then at Sangji University.
