“Massage as a therapeutic and restorative experience best describes the intention of my work. It involves the manipulation of soft-tissue to support the healing of your injuries and the elimination of chronic pain caused by the stress and bustle of modern life. My approach is patient, intuitive and specific-with the goal of creating ease and balance in your everyday activities. The benefits deepen when a trusting rapport develops between us over the course of ongoing sessions. This may lead to therapeutic changes that help to resolve deep-seated patterns of tension and pain, ultimately restoring your physical, mental and emotional well-being.
My work is grounded in a variety of modalities, including Swedish massage, deep-tissue, myofascial release, trigger point work, and informed by the Chinese meridian system used in Shiatsu. Other strong influences on my work include the Alexander technique and the Feldenkrais method, from years of intensive theatre and movement training.
I graduated from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City in 1993 and received certification in Sports massage with Jim Hackett from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy shortly thereafter. My massage experiences range from the chiropractic setting, health club and spa to work with seniors and the HIV community.”
